Onsite Health Technician (EMT / Paramedic)

Medcor is seeking a qualified EMT or Paramedic to serve as an Onsite Health Technician at an employer-based occupational health clinic in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

This is a seasonal, part-time position offering a reliable 20-hour-per-week daytime schedule for approximately three months. After the seasonal period, the role will transition to PRN status, allowing continued opportunities to pick up shifts as needed. The position offers competitive pay of $28.00–$30.00 per hour.

Position Overview

This role provides EMTs and Paramedics the opportunity to apply their emergency medical skills in an occupational healthcare setting outside of traditional EMS. The Onsite Health Technician supports workplace health programs by treating employee injuries and illnesses, assisting with return-to-work processes, managing workers’ compensation cases, and collaborating with healthcare providers and client leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations within Medcor’s onsite workplace clinic
  • Provide compassionate, professional care to employees and client personnel
  • Evaluate and treat workplace injuries and illnesses following established medical protocols
  • Perform patient assessments, documentation, and medical charting using electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Assist with workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work programs
  • Monitor treatment plans and coordinate care with outside medical providers
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer health screenings
  • Support employee wellness initiatives and occupational health programs
  • Maintain accurate records while following privacy and compliance requirements
  • Build positive working relationships with patients, medical teams, and client representatives

Qualifications

  • Current EMT or Paramedic certification/licensure
  • Active CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use electronic medical record systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry a 50-pound emergency response bag
  • Positive, patient-focused attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a healthcare team
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and supporting workplace safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in occupational health, urgent care, or workplace clinics
  • Background in emergency medicine or critical care
  • Familiarity with employee injury management and healthcare documentation
