Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and provide Basic Life Support interventions, including CPR, oxygen administration, bleeding control, splinting, and vital sign monitoring
- Support Paramedics during Advanced Life Support (ALS) responses by preparing equipment and assisting with delegated patient care
- Monitor patients throughout transport and communicate changes in condition to medical personnel
- Complete accurate electronic patient care reports and required documentation
- Safely operate ambulances in accordance with company policies and traffic regulations
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, restocking, and maintenance of emergency vehicles and equipment
- Assist with patient lifting, stretcher operations, and safe transportation procedures
- Participate in continuing education, required certifications, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current State EMT certification in good standing
- National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification if required by state regulations
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Valid driver’s license
- FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications
- Previous EMT experience preferred
- PHTLS or ITLS certification is an advantage
- Basic computer and technology skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lift and move patients safely with assistance when necessary
