Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our Outpatient Women’s Health Clinic team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a busy clinical environment and is dedicated to delivering compassionate patient care along with exceptional service.
In this position, you will support providers and clinical staff while helping manage patient flow and scheduling to ensure efficient daily operations and a positive patient experience.
As part of our workplace safety standards, selected candidates must complete respiratory fit testing in accordance with occupational health requirements.
Required Certifications
Applicants must hold one of the following active credentials:

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants

EMT (Basic, Advanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic) – Texas Department of State Health Services

Licensed Paramedic (Texas DSHS)
-
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing
-
Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association of Health Professionals
-
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – Accredited certifying organizations
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant healthcare experience required.
Key Responsibilities

Address patient inquiries regarding appointments, wait times, and unexpected delays in a professional and timely manner

Complete patient registration according to clinic procedures

Use the patient management system to document arrivals and initiate accounts
-
Update daily appointment statuses (cancellations, no-shows, reschedules)

Coordinate room assignments based on arrival time, appointment type, and clinic workflow

Support licensed staff with non-financial aspects of admissions when needed

Assist with patient transport and required documentation

Collect and record patient biophysical and psychosocial information within clinic guidelines

Notify the RN or provider of abnormal findings

Verify that all requisitions include appropriate clinical, demographic, and billing information

Monitor clinic flow and adjust staffing assignments as needed to reduce wait times
