Job Title: EMT / Campus First Aid Specialist

Position Summary

The EMT / Clinical First Aid Specialist is responsible for providing basic medical support and health services to students and staff during the school day. This role ensures compliance with health regulations, maintains accurate medical records, and promotes a safe, healthy learning environment.

Schedule: Full-time, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (10-month position)
Compensation: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
Work Location: 100% Onsite
Reports To: Chief Business Officer or Campus Principal


Required Qualifications

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Understanding of physical and mental health concerns affecting school-aged children

  • Familiarity with school policies and state health regulations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making skills

  • Effective multitasking abilities


Primary Responsibilities

Student & Staff Care

  • Provide first aid and basic medical attention as needed

  • Assess symptoms and determine appropriate action

  • Administer medications according to physician and parent instructions

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and notify parents and staff

  • Develop care plans for students with chronic conditions

  • Support students with disabilities and health-related needs

Health Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and confidential health files

  • Review and verify immunization and vaccination documentation

  • Ensure required health screenings are completed

  • Keep immunization records current and compliant

Communication & Education

  • Contact parents regarding illness, injury, or contagious conditions

  • Educate students and staff on hygiene, safety, and wellness topics

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators regarding student health concerns

Environment & Professional Standards

  • Maintain a clean and organized health office

  • Follow all board policies, school procedures, and administrative guidelines

  • Promote a positive, professional school climate

  • Build respectful relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership
