Position Overview:

Pay: $16.50/hour

Carowinds places safety at the forefront of everything we do. Our Safety Team is composed of skilled, compassionate professionals who provide care for guests and team members alike. We are seeking EMTs to deliver both emergency and non-emergency medical services throughout the park. In this role, you will staff the First Aid office and respond to medical incidents across the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver basic clinical and emergency care, including wound treatment, splinter removal, over-the-counter medication administration, and patient assessment.

  • Complete all required departmental documentation accurately, legibly, and confidentially.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of first aid stations, vehicles, and equipment, following OSHA and park bloodborne pathogen protocols.

  • Conduct pre-employment and post-incident drug screens, as well as random or reasonable cause testing when needed.

  • Assist with routine safety inspections and promptly report any hazards. Document findings according to park procedures.

  • Support the First Aid Supervisor with skills testing and audits throughout the season.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Hold a valid EMT certification in NC, SC, or NR (EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P). EMTs from SC or NR must obtain NC certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or MEDIC/Mecklenburg County Focused CPR.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and exercise sound judgment.

  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must successfully pass a company-mandated drug screen and background check, including checks for employment history, criminal record, credit, DMV, and personal references (unless prohibited by law).
