Location: UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center – Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Department: Emergency Department
Schedule: PRN (as needed), 0.00 FTE per two-week pay period
Shift: Flexible
Compensation: $21.06 – $31.59 per hour, based on relevant experience


Position Overview

Under the supervision of a physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse, this role delivers urgent and emergency care services to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The EMT supports clinical teams to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out delegated clinical tasks such as IV placement, specimen collection, wound management, ECGs, telemetry monitoring, and patient transport.

  • Support providers during exams and procedures, including minor surgeries, orthopedic treatments, and resuscitation efforts.

  • Observe and promptly report any changes in a patient’s physical or behavioral condition to licensed staff.

  • Assist in maintaining smooth patient flow by preparing, stocking, and organizing exam rooms and treatment areas.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be valid within 60 days of hire).

  • Active Colorado EMT license with IV endorsement or EMT-Intermediate credential.

  • CPI certification required within one year of hire.
