Position Overview
Under general supervision, this role delivers hands-on supportive patient care within an approved scope of practice. The position may carry out assigned clinical tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, ensuring safe, accurate, and compassionate care.
Required Qualifications
Education
-
Formal education combined with vocational training in a pre-hospital or clinical care program such as EMT-1 or Paramedic
or -
Completion of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program with active licensure
Experience
-
Prior work experience as an EMT-1, Paramedic, or LVN is preferred but not mandatory
Licenses & Certifications
-
Current BLS certification
-
Active EMT or Paramedic certification
or -
Valid California LVN license with IV certification

State-approved Phlebotomy certification (required if not a Paramedic or IV-certified LVN)

Basic cardiac rhythm recognition training (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge Base Includes:

Human anatomy and physiological systems

Common medical treatments and procedures

Basic cardiac rhythm interpretation

Fundamental EMT clinical techniques

Use of standard office technology, electronic health systems, and software

Clinical documentation and report preparation
