On-Site EMT / Paramedic – Health & Safety Medical Technician (HSMT)

Amphibious Medics—America’s largest EMS staffing network—invites motivated EMTs and Paramedics to join our team as part-time Health & Safety Medical Technicians (HSMTs). This position allows you to grow beyond traditional EMS, develop skills in occupational health, and play a key role in keeping worksites safe and productive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide triage, first aid, follow-up treatment, and referrals to external providers when needed.
  • Emergency Response: Quickly assess situations and respond decisively to on-site medical incidents.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient encounters and maintain site medical records.
  • Safety Support: Take part in wellness initiatives, jobsite walk-throughs, and safety awareness efforts.
  • Health Programs: Assist with on-site health fairs, safety campaigns, and wellness events.
  • Care Coordination: Communicate with outside medical providers and site leadership to ensure continuity of care.
  • Field Engagement: Spend the majority of your shift (approximately 65%) actively present on the job site interacting with workers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate active job sites, including stairs and uneven terrain.
  • Carry equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of one year of full-time experience responding to 911 medical calls.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable lifting and carrying medical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Education & Certifications

  • Active National Registry or State EMT-B certification.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification for healthcare professionals or professional rescuers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910).
  • Experience working on large construction or industrial sites.
  • Understanding of workers’ compensation processes.
  • Instructor credentials for First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
