Role Responsibilities

• Follow all applicable regulations issued by the West Virginia Racing Commission and state EMS authorities
• Adhere to internal EMS and security protocols, including exposure control and safety procedures
• Inspect, clean, and maintain emergency medical equipment and transport vehicles at the start and end of each shift
• Restock supplies and ensure readiness of all medical materials after each response
• Provide emergency medical care for both trauma and medical situations following established ALS and BLS guidelines
• Perform patient assessments and deliver appropriate pre-hospital interventions
• Communicate patient conditions clearly to receiving medical facilities and healthcare personnel via radio and verbal reporting
• Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation and incident reports
• Support team operations during emergency events, mass casualty incidents, and multi-agency responses
• Assist fellow EMS personnel as needed within the scope of practice
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with company standards at all times
• Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and professional development activities
• Ensure all duties are performed safely and in accordance with operational procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Paramedic certification (EMT-P) recognized by West Virginia EMS authorities
• Current CPR certification at healthcare provider level
• Valid ACLS certification
• PALS or PEPP certification (advanced level)
• ITLS certification (advanced provider level)
• EVOC certification and HazMat Awareness training
• Valid driver’s license with eligibility to operate emergency vehicles
• Ability to pass background checks and ongoing driving record evaluations
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in high-stress environments
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and documentation tools

This role operates in a fast-paced emergency response setting that may include large public venues, outdoor environments, and varying weather conditions. Team members may be exposed to high noise levels, emergency scenes, and physically demanding situations.

The position requires strong physical capability, including lifting, carrying, and assisting patients with or without support, as well as standing or working in active environments for extended periods. Clear vision, hearing, and communication abilities are essential for safe and effective performance.
