Job Description
The McMinnville Fire Department is seeking motivated individuals to support emergency response operations focused on safeguarding lives and property. This position involves responding to fire and emergency incidents, assisting with rescue and medical care, and completing assigned duties that support daily department operations.
Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age and a United States citizen

High school diploma or GED required

Completion of an approved 80-hour Basic / Live Firefighter training program

Emergency Medical Responder certification required within one year of hire

Possession of a valid driver’s license
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the rescue of individuals from hazardous situations and provide basic first aid when needed

Perform physically demanding and potentially dangerous tasks during emergency situations, including operations in confined spaces and smoke-filled environments

Participate in scheduled training sessions covering firefighting techniques, emergency medical care, and related skills

Conduct routine hose testing activities, including loading and unloading fire hose from apparatus

Support station upkeep through general maintenance and cleaning tasks

Receive and relay emergency communications via radio and telephone systems

Take part in fire hydrant flow testing by removing hydrant caps, operating valves, and verifying water output
