We are expanding our team and are looking for Paramedics (EMT-P) to join the Johns Hopkins Hospital Transport Team. Full-time and part-time positions are available, offering opportunities to work in a supportive environment that values your expertise and dedication to patient care.
Position Summary
The Paramedic provides both advanced and basic life support, performs patient assessments, delivers emergency medical care, and ensures safe patient transport. This role requires the safe operation of ambulances, adherence to clinical protocols, and compliance with all company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Maryland and DC EMT-Paramedic certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of EMS or emergency medical experience preferred
- Ability to meet all regulatory and company requirements for paramedic practice
- Reliable transportation and professional demeanor
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced life support and emergency care during patient transport
- Safely operate ambulances and maintain all associated equipment
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including vital signs and treatments administered
- Assist patients with transfers, mobility, and lifting, safely handling up to 250 lbs
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and dispatch
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in vehicles and workspaces
- Complete accurate reports and patient documentation
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and special assignments as needed
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate confined or obstacle-filled spaces
- Sufficient vision, hearing, and mobility to safely provide patient care and operate equipment
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, high-intensity EMS environment
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, mechanical equipment, and moderate noise levels
- Flexibility to work beyond scheduled shifts as required
