Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated EMT to join our team in Orlando, FL, providing essential Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS) in both emergency and non-emergency environments. In this role, you will respond to medical calls, evaluate patient conditions, deliver immediate care, and ensure safe transport to appropriate healthcare facilities. You will collaborate closely with other medical professionals, maintain emergency response vehicles and equipment, and accurately record all aspects of patient care.

Position Overview

The EMT is responsible for delivering both Basic and Advanced Life Support to patients experiencing critical illness or traumatic injury. This includes responding to emergency scenes, supporting patient stabilization, and providing care during transport. The role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership in pre-hospital settings, and the ability to support and mentor junior team members when needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely Basic and Advanced Life Support to patients in critical condition using approved medical protocols and techniques.
  • Evaluate patient conditions, recognize emergencies, and develop appropriate working diagnoses.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments to determine patient needs.
  • Identify and respond quickly to life-threatening conditions with appropriate interventions.
  • Provide both medical treatment and emotional support to patients and families during emergencies.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care in line with organizational clinical guidelines.
  • Prepare complete and accurate patient care documentation, including assessment findings, treatment provided, and transport details.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding patient status and follow medical direction or established protocols when direct consultation is unavailable.
  • Safely transport patients to healthcare facilities while providing ongoing care during transit.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain ambulances, medical equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness at all times.
  • Complete required administrative documentation and reporting.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and clinical standards at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of pre-hospital care experience is an advantage.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to follow medical protocols accurately.
  • Ability to perform emergency medical procedures under pressure.
  • Skilled in operating emergency vehicles and handling medical equipment.
  • Capable of patient extrication and emergency scene support.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid state driver’s license required.
  • Current EMT-B certification in good standing required.

Compensation

USD $16.89 – $24.46 per hour
