Position Overview

Grifols is currently hiring a Center Medical Specialist for its plasma donation center. This opportunity is open to qualified EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) professionals who are interested in applying their clinical skills in a donor-focused healthcare environment.

In this role, you will evaluate donors, monitor their health during the donation process, and ensure that all procedures meet regulatory and safety standards. Compensation will vary depending on professional licensure and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical assessments and review medical histories to determine donor eligibility.

  • Build positive relationships with donors to support a welcoming and professional experience.

  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff information.

  • Educate donors about potential health risks and provide guidance regarding abnormal test results.

  • Evaluate and manage donor reactions, injuries, or medical concerns during the donation process.

  • Review donor medical conditions and medications to confirm ongoing eligibility for donation.

  • Assist with training and development of staff members.

  • Support the employee hepatitis vaccination program.

Qualifications

  • Current certification or licensure as one of the following in the state of employment:

    • Registered Nurse (RN)

    • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)

    • Paramedic

    • EMT-Basic or Advanced EMT

  • Current CPR certification required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods (2–4 hours at a time).

  • Frequent hand and finger movements for handling medical tools and documentation.

  • Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, or crouching.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.

  • Adequate hearing and vision (near, distance, and color perception) to safely perform duties.

Work Environment

This role is based in a plasma donation center and may involve exposure to biological materials and laboratory equipment. Employees may also work in cold storage areas while handling plasma freezers and must wear appropriate protective equipment.
