Job Description – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Overview
This position provides emergency medical care at the EMT level and performs safe ambulance transport for patients experiencing illness or injury.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Must hold a current EMT license from the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Physical Requirements

Frequent walking, standing, and sitting; use of hands for handling tools and equipment; reaching and talking.

Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.

Must have normal color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
Additional Requirements

Must not be listed on OIG or GSA sanction lists.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record meeting Cherokee Nation underwriting standards.

Maintain ongoing licensure and BLS certification.

Compliance with HIPAA regulations and strict confidentiality regarding patient information.

Completion of all required continuing education for licensure renewal as mandated by the Oklahoma State Department of Health/EMS Division.

Successful completion of pre-employment and periodic background checks, including child care adjudication.
