Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, determine care priorities, and provide appropriate medical treatment in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice.
  • Deliver pre-hospital emergency care and assist in patient transport, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient and family care.
  • Collaborate with Paramedics and Clinical Supervisors to fulfill assigned duties and daily operational responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation using the WATRS system, in compliance with Wyoming state regulations.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as organizational policies. Must maintain a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
  • Ensure ambulances and stations are consistently clean, stocked, and ready for immediate response. Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance as needed.
  • Provide support to other departments during downtime or high patient volume periods, assisting under the direction of physicians and registered nurses within defined scope of practice.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across departments.
  • Complete all required training and educational programs within designated timeframes.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance professional competencies.
  • Availability for on-call duties and rotating shifts is required.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of six months of experience as an EMT preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid EMT license issued by the Wyoming Office of EMS (National Registry certification preferred).
  • Must maintain all required licensure and remain current with professional standards, clinical protocols, and continuing education.
  • Certification as an Emergency Vehicle Operator (or completion of an approved EVOC course for ambulance operation) within six months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire or within 60 days.
  • Completion of an approved de-escalation training program within six months of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the hospital’s liability insurance policy.

  • Proficiency or willingness to learn new software systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Adherence to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of the role.
