Overview
The Richmond Ambulance Authority (RAA) is seeking motivated, reliable, and compassionate individuals to join its EMS Cadet Program. This full-time training initiative is designed to prepare participants for certification as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-Basic) while gaining real-world experience in emergency medical services.

Program Highlights

All training expenses are fully covered, including uniforms, course materials, certifications, and NREMT exam fees

Participants are paid throughout the training program

Instruction and mentorship provided by experienced EMS professionals

Guaranteed full-time EMT-B employment upon successful program completion, certification, and state licensure
Responsibilities

Complete a minimum of 16 hours of coursework each week

Successfully pass all exams and required certifications

Demonstrate competency in all required program skills

Maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality customer service

Follow all safety, ethical, and operational standards

Comply with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED
-
At least 18 years of age

Valid Virginia driver’s license
-
Acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards

Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug test, background check, and Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

Employment Conditions

Candidates must successfully complete a drug screening and background investigation, including fingerprinting

Completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) is required

Refusal to participate in required screenings may result in disqualification
