Job Description β EMT Instructor (Part-Time)
This opening is for an EMT Instructor position. Candidates with a minimum of three years of EMT experience who are interested in stepping into an instructional and leadership role are encouraged to apply.
Availability is required for all scheduled class sessions:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Position Summary
EMT Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality education and hands-on training to students enrolled in EMS programs. The instructor ensures learners meet curriculum standards, demonstrate required competencies, and successfully achieve course objectives. This role involves classroom teaching, skills evaluation, student mentorship, and academic oversight throughout the training program.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Set up and prepare classrooms, labs, and training environments

Retrieve, inspect, maintain, and return instructional equipment and training aids

Track and manage training equipment inventory

Deliver instruction in compliance with Title 22 standards across classroom, lab, lecture, seminar, and practical settings

Enhance lesson plans by integrating real-world EMS experience, after-action insights, and current best practices

Evaluate student knowledge, skill performance, and practical application

Facilitate student critiques to identify learning gaps and improvement strategies

Plan and conduct remedial instruction when necessary

Maintain accurate class rosters, progress reports, and training records

Review student feedback and summarize course critiques

Provide academic advising and counseling to students

Grade written exams, skills assessments, homework, and projects

Complete student evaluations upon course completion when applicable

Monitor student progress and document performance in official training records

Complete Training Quality Reports and document any identified training deficiencies

Adjust teaching methods based on feedback from students, peers, and supervisors

Evaluate clinical skills assistants before and after program completion

Coordinate and schedule clinical assistants for assigned class dates
Minimum Requirements
-
At least three (3) years of EMT experience in field operations, clinical practice, or EMS education

Current CPR certification
-
National Registry EMT or state-certified EMT credential

Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Ability to use and access all required training and instructional tools

Hourly Pay: $30.00 β $40.00

Training / Probationary Pay: $25.00 per hour for the first 2β6 months, based on instructional performance and competency development

Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to perform moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 45 pounds, extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting, and occasional work in varying weather conditions.
