The Club at Crazy Mountain Ranch offers an exclusive membership experience across 18,000 remarkable acres in Montana. Our Ranch Fire Division (CMRF) is seeking experienced Firefighter-Paramedics (FireMedics) to join our professional team on a 48/96 schedule.

This role provides a rare opportunity to deliver advanced life support (ALS) medical care and engage in structural and wildland fire operations in a remote, high-standard environment.

Position Overview
FireMedics at CMRF operate with independence and professionalism, managing emergency medical incidents and supporting fire suppression with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates are experienced providers confident in making critical decisions, leading scenes, and delivering superior care under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced life support (ALS) care in both emergency and routine situations
  • Lead and coordinate patient care from response through transfer
  • Participate in structural and wildland firefighting activities
  • Ensure readiness of medical and fire equipment, apparatus, and supplies
  • Follow established protocols, standing orders, and medical direction
  • Collaborate with ranch personnel, security, and mutual aid as needed
  • Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and patient care

Minimum Qualifications

  • National Registry Paramedic (NRP) and/or Montana State Paramedic License (or eligible for reciprocity)
  • Firefighter I & II Pro Board Certifications
  • Minimum 3 years paramedic experience in a high-volume EMS setting
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in remote or rural EMS/fire operations
  • Wildland fire certifications (S-130/S-190, Red Card)
  • ICS/NIMS Incident Command System training
  • Proven leadership on emergency scenes

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Remote ranch setting with high expectations of service
  • Fast-paced and unpredictable emergency response environment
  • Operate effectively with minimal supervision
  • Assist with ranch operations, including livestock care, firewood preparation, guided hikes, and event setup
  • Active involvement in both Fire/EMS duties and general ranch support

Physical Demands

  • Perform physically demanding tasks in challenging, outdoor conditions
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment and patients up to 50–100+ lbs
  • Use hands and fingers for tools, medical devices, hose lines, and other apparatus
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, hiking, climbing, balancing on uneven terrain
  • Stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and reaching for firefighting and medical operations
  • Exposure to weather extremes, smoke, heat, and other outdoor hazards
