We are currently hiring a Firefighter/EMT to support emergency response operations at our East Hartford facility.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, rescues, and other crisis situations using proper protective gear and specialized equipment.

Deliver emergency medical care within EMT scope of practice and assist paramedics during Advanced Life Support (ALS) responses, including ambulance transport when required.

Operate fire apparatus such as pumpers, rescue and hazmat units, ambulances, and service vehicles to transport personnel and equipment.

Perform fire suppression, ventilation, confined space rescue, pump operations, hazardous materials mitigation, and overhaul activities.

Conduct inspections and functional testing of fire protection systems, emergency equipment, and safety devices; assist with investigations when needed.

Maintain, service, and repair firefighting tools and apparatus to ensure operational readiness.

Complete routine maintenance, housekeeping, training drills, and preparedness exercises across assigned areas.

Maintain certifications and obtain additional licenses or permits as required by company or regulatory standards.

Meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, advancing charged hose lines, assisting with patient movement, and operating in hazardous environments while wearing SCBA equipment.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Connecticut Firefighter I certification

Connecticut EMT certification

Connecticut Hazardous Materials Operations certification

Ability to obtain Connecticut Hazardous Materials Technician certification within one year

Valid Connecticut “Q” endorsement or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Preferred Qualifications

Connecticut Firefighter II certification

Connecticut Fire Instructor I certification

Hazardous Materials Technician certification

Confined Space Rescue certification

Experience with fire inspections, alarm and suppression systems, or dispatch operations

This is an onsite role supporting essential production and facility operations. Candidates may be required to complete portions of the interview process in person.
