Position Summary
The ALS Technical Partner is a licensed Paramedic who supports high-quality patient care within the Emergency Department. This role involves both direct and indirect patient care throughout the treatment process. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, the ALS Technical Partner contributes advanced clinical skills while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
This position operates under the supervision of Emergency Department providers or nursing leadership and follows established clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of acutely and chronically ill patients and their families

Proficiency in documenting and communicating clinical information using electronic or written systems

Ability to provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients

Knowledge of infection prevention practices and safety standards

Ability to apply advanced clinical training, develop care plans, and intervene rapidly in life-threatening situations
Required Certifications (Pennsylvania)

Paramedic (EMT-P) – upon hire

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Basic Life Support (BLS – American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements
This position involves regular physical activity, including lifting and carrying up to 40–50 pounds. Duties may include pushing or pulling stretchers and beds, assisting with patient transfers, and transporting patients throughout the facility. Extended periods of standing and walking are common, with some roles requiring significant daily movement. Additional physical demands may include kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR as needed.
