Overview

Inova Franconia-Springfield HealthPlex is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician 2 (EMT-B) to join its Emergency Department team. This is a PRN, as-needed position with varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Document patient care, procedures, treatments, and charges accurately.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient care and specimen collection.
• Perform 12-lead ECGs and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect, label, and transport specimens.
• Provide wound care, dressing changes, and surgical wound preparation.
• Assist with sutures and orthopedic splinting.
• Transport patients for testing, admission, discharge, interfacility, and aeromedical services.
• Maintain medical equipment and supply inventories.
• Follow department policies, clinical standards, and patient-safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Training

Selected candidates must be available for six weeks of paid training, including virtual coursework, classroom sessions, and on-unit training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of EMT-B experience.
• Current EMT-B certification, either through NREMT or a Virginia EMT license/certification.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
