Hyperbaric Technician – Healogics
Job Summary
Healogics is seeking a skilled Hyperbaric Technician to provide safe and effective hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients with chronic and non-healing wounds. Reporting to the Program Director, this position operates hyperbaric chamber systems, monitors patients throughout treatment, maintains accurate clinical documentation, and supports overall wound care operations.
Candidates with healthcare credentials including EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, RN, LPN/LVN, Medical Assistant, Hyperbaric Technician, CNA, and other qualifying certifications may be eligible.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, educate, and orient patients before hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning according to applicable policies.
- Administer prescribed hyperbaric oxygen treatments under the direction of the Hyperbaric Provider.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment and respond appropriately to changes in their condition.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain hyperbaric chambers and related oxygen systems.
- Troubleshoot hyperbaric equipment and support systems when necessary.
- Document treatments, wound care visits, patient information, and clinical activities accurately.
- Upload and maintain required patient photographs and treatment records.
- Assist with vein clinic services after completing required Healogics training.
- Participate in safety drills and other workplace safety activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Qualified CMA or LPN personnel may perform documentation/scribe duties in accordance with company policy.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current healthcare professional certification or license applicable to the state of practice.
- Eligible credentials may include:
- EMT or Paramedic
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- RN, LPN, or LVN
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
- Certified Hyperbaric Specialist or Technologist
- CNA/LNA
- Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant
- Qualified military medical or diving personnel
- Completion of an approved introductory hyperbaric training course before or after hire.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Ability to maintain required certifications and complete ongoing competencies.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Two or more years of healthcare experience preferred.
- Previous wound care or critical care experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot medical equipment and hyperbaric systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and reassure patients.
- Basic mathematics and computer skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with wound-management software is a plus.
Physical & Work Environment
The position involves extended periods of standing or remaining stationary, frequent computer use, walking, bending, reaching, and moving equipment. Employees may lift or move items weighing up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance.
The role is primarily performed indoors in a patient-care environment and may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, mechanical equipment, electrical current, and other clinical hazards.
Compensation
The estimated pay range for this position is $24.85–$31.02 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, geographic location, operational requirements, and other applicable factors.
