Job Overview

County Rescue Services is hiring licensed Paramedics for Full-Time and Part-Time positions in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As a private nonprofit ambulance provider, County Rescue delivers 911 emergency medical services throughout Northeast Wisconsin while also providing emergency and non-emergency interfacility patient transportation.

Paramedics provide high-quality Basic and Advanced Life Support to patients at emergency scenes and during transport. Schedule Options

  • Full-Time: 24-hour rotating shifts
  • Part-Time: Flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts

  • Paramedic hiring is conducted in quarterly cycles based on staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Basic and Advanced Life Support to critically ill and injured patients within Wisconsin Paramedic scope of practice, agency protocols, and medical direction.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer emergency medical interventions and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, EMS personnel, law enforcement, fire departments, and other public safety professionals.
  • Safely operate emergency and non-emergency response vehicles in accordance with company policies and applicable traffic laws.
  • Complete accurate and timely patient care reports and required operational documentation.
  • Maintain ambulances, medical equipment, supplies, and work areas in clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Perform vehicle and equipment inspections, inventory, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures for disasters and mass-casualty incidents.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local EMS regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participate in continuing education, mandatory training, competency assessments, and quality improvement programs.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, public safety personnel, and community partners.
  • Support County Rescue Services’ commitment to compassionate, efficient, and patient-centered emergency medical care.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and assist with moving patients and medical equipment, including loads exceeding 400 pounds with appropriate team assistance or lifting equipment.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, twist, and climb in and out of ambulances in a variety of environments and terrain.
  • Remain seated for extended periods while driving or monitoring patients, including during shifts of up to 24 hours.
  • Work in different weather conditions and tolerate exposure to emergency vehicle sirens and varying lighting conditions.
  • Perform fine motor procedures such as starting IVs, administering medications, and operating medical and communication equipment.
  • Work around blood and potentially communicable diseases while following required PPE and OSHA safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Current Wisconsin Paramedic license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company and insurance carrier driving requirements.
  • Critical Care Transport (CCT) training preferred but not required.
  • ICS 100, 200, and 700 certifications preferred.
  • Previous 911 EMS and/or interfacility transport experience preferred.
  • Must maintain all education and continuing training requirements necessary for professional licensure and certifications.
  • Successful completion of required background, reference, and drug screening processes.
  • A criminal conviction or pending charge will not automatically disqualify an applicant and will be evaluated in accordance with applicable law.
