Position: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Location: Concentra (various locations in the U.S.)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Travel: Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%)

Overview:

The EMT plays a critical role in delivering emergency medical and trauma care, triaging patients, and providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires clinical skill, compassion, and the ability to respond quickly under pressure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical and trauma care according to established protocols

  • Perform patient triage and urgent care procedures

  • Assist with DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing (training provided)

  • Prepare patients for exams, including vital signs, vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiograms, and respirator fit testing

  • Conduct rapid screening tests such as influenza, strep, glucose, and other point-of-care tests

  • Administer first-aid treatments: splints, oxygen, minor wound care, IVs, artificial resuscitation

  • Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders

  • Communicate with emergency facilities and coordinate patient transfers under Medical Director guidance

  • Maintain medical equipment, perform calibration, and track records

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the center and supplies

  • Participate in ongoing clinical competency training and safety huddles

  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and company safety protocols at all times

  • Provide excellent customer service, keeping patients informed and comfortable


Required Education & Credentials

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Nationally Registered EMT or Advanced EMT certification

  • Meet state-specific credentialing requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Additional certifications (preferred): Drug/alcohol collection, ARC/CPR instructor, OSHA safety


Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years’ 911 emergency response experience

  • Firefighter experience is a plus

  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills

  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information according to HIPAA and PHI regulations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems


Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 10 lbs, and perform job-related movements

  • Capable of handling stressful, unpredictable, or high-pressure situations

  • Flexibility to adjust to minimal travel, varying weather, and physical demands of assignments
