Job Description
Advanced Life Support – AEMT & Paramedic
Advanced Life Support (ALS) clinicians deliver a higher level of medical care by expanding on foundational BLS training to provide advanced pre-hospital and interfacility treatment. These professionals play a critical role in managing complex medical and traumatic conditions during patient transport.
ALS providers receive advanced education in areas such as anatomy and physiology, cardiology, pharmacology, and advanced medical interventions. Their scope of practice includes medication administration, IV access, advanced airway techniques, cardiac resuscitation, and comprehensive supportive care for critically ill or injured patients.
Minimum Certification Requirements

Virginia Paramedic (EMT-P) certification

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers

AHA ACLS
-
AHA PALS
-
National Registry and EVOC II preferred, but not mandatory
