About the Role: Medical Assistant – Early Embrace
The Medical Assistant – Early Embrace role is designed for an unlicensed healthcare professional who is trained to handle both administrative and clinical responsibilities that keep our medical centers operating efficiently. Responsibilities may vary depending on the practice location and size. This position works directly under physician supervision and follows all applicable state medical regulations.
As a key part of a physician-led care team, this role supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused primary care for a defined patient population.
Key Responsibilities

Collect and document vital signs, patient histories, and interview information

Communicate patient concerns and needs to physicians, clinicians, specialists, and care team members

Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during evaluations and procedures

Perform routine screenings and report any changes in patient condition

Carry out non-critical clinical procedures as directed, including specimen collection and basic lab testing

Administer medications, change dressings, remove sutures, apply bandages, and provide basic first aid under physician oversight

Maintain medical supplies, sterilize instruments, and follow OSHA and safety standards

Accurately document all patient interactions and clinical activities in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines

Manage incoming patient calls, relay messages, and coordinate follow-ups with care team members

With proper authorization, communicate prescriptions to pharmacies using approved systems

Provide health coaching and lifestyle support to assigned patients, including weekly follow-up calls

Support smooth patient flow and assist with additional duties as assigned by leadership
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of medical assistant duties and clinical workflows

Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare standards

Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills

Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong customer service abilities

Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced or stressful environments

Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office applications

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams

Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

Willingness to travel up to 10% and work weekends when needed

Fluent in English; Spanish or Creole bilingual skills are a plus
Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Graduation from an accredited program as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic

At least one year of relevant clinical experience

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for healthcare providers

Experience working with senior or geriatric patients preferred

Prior EMR system experience is a plus
Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 – $24.26
Final pay is based on experience, education, location, and other relevant factors. This role may also qualify for incentive pay or bonuses.
