Firefighter / EMT

Allied Universal is seeking a Firefighter / EMT to join its team in Lyndora, Pennsylvania. This full-time position combines emergency medical response, fire protection, and site security responsibilities while helping maintain a safe environment for employees, visitors, and client facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned facilities and help maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous situations, and other incidents
  • Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care within EMT certification guidelines
  • Perform firefighting operations, including hose deployment, ladder use, and equipment operation
  • Assist with hazardous materials response, confined space rescue, and emergency evacuations
  • Prepare accurate reports documenting incidents, inspections, and emergency responses
  • Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations
  • Operate emergency vehicles and equipment safely when assigned
  • Maintain emergency response equipment, protective gear, and medical supplies
  • Provide professional customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, and emergency personnel

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or higher
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Valid driver’s license with at least one year of safe driving history
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required firefighter, hazardous materials, confined space, and rescue certifications
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift or carry up to 80 pounds when necessary
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and ramps during emergency operations
  • Wear full firefighter protective equipment, including SCBA
  • Perform physically demanding firefighting and rescue tasks safely and efficiently
