Position Overview

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking a qualified Paramedic to join its Emergency Department team. In this hospital-based role, you will work alongside registered nurses, physicians, and other clinical professionals to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to emergency patients.

The ED Paramedic will assess and communicate patient information, assist with clinical procedures within their authorized scope of practice, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to overall patient safety and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Emergency Department clinical team with patient care within the Paramedic’s approved scope of practice.
• Collect, assess, and communicate relevant patient information to nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate closely with RNs and other members of the emergency care team.
• Monitor patient safety and report significant changes in condition promptly.
• Maintain competency in clinical skills, procedures, and electronic documentation systems.
• Use SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) to communicate patient information clearly and effectively.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and clinical quality initiatives.
• Complete required documentation accurately and maintain competency with the hospital’s charting system.
• Attend department meetings, training sessions, and mandatory in-services.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, coworkers, and hospital personnel.
• Support the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Participate in professional development activities that strengthen individual and departmental performance.

Required Qualifications

• Current Paramedic certification or applicable state EMT credential as accepted by the facility.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Required certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment, where applicable.
• Ability to perform clinical duties safely and effectively within the authorized scope of practice.
