Key Responsibilities

Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are ready for exams and treatments while keeping them informed and comfortable.

Triage & Vitals: Accurately perform triage and record vital signs.

Patient History Documentation: Collect and input detailed patient history in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system efficiently.

Laboratory Specimens: Collect routine specimens, including blood, urine, and oral swabs.

Medication Administration & Injections: Administer medications and non-IV injections, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal.

Clinical Procedures: Perform IV starts, catheter placements, and splinting when necessary.

Support Clinical & Laboratory Work: Assist with basic clinical, aseptic, and lab procedures to ensure optimal patient care.

Occupational Medicine Support: Assist with workplace health services, such as drug testing, breath alcohol tests, audiograms, and pulmonary function testing, following company protocols.

Compliance: Maintain adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulatory standards.

Administrative Duties: Handle general office procedures and operate medical equipment proficiently.

Quality Assurance: Monitor compliance with quality programs, CLIA-waived lab requirements, and patient result tracking.

Travel as Needed: Assist other Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support staffing and operations when required.
Required Qualifications

Education & Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience: At least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER experience is a plus); new graduates with strong potential will be considered.

Clinical Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and basic clinical procedures.

Technical Skills: Experience with EMR systems; EPIC preferred.

Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Team-Oriented: Positive, proactive attitude toward patient care and teamwork.
