Position Overview
The EMT-P Supervisor is a key leadership role within Town of Wallkill Emergency Medical Services (TOWEMS), responsible for managing and supporting the daily operations of our emergency medical team. This position ensures that all personnel follow established protocols, deliver high-quality patient care, and receive ongoing training and professional development.
The supervisor coordinates emergency response activities, manages staffing schedules, and fosters collaboration between TOWEMS personnel and other healthcare professionals. By providing leadership, guidance, and oversight, the EMT-P Supervisor helps improve operational efficiency and contributes to better patient outcomes in the community.
Minimum Qualifications

Current New York State EMT-P certification

At least 3 years of EMS experience, including 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role

Strong understanding of emergency medical procedures, standards, and protocols

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to successfully complete background checks and drug screenings
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline

Experience in community outreach, public health programs, or health education initiatives
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of EMTs and Paramedics, ensuring compliance with protocols and high standards of care

Oversee emergency response operations, including deployment of personnel and equipment as required

Maintain comprehensive records for incident reports, staff performance, and training activities for regulatory compliance and internal reporting

Serve as a liaison between TOWEMS personnel and external healthcare partners, promoting effective communication and collaboration

Facilitate ongoing professional development, training, and performance evaluations for the EMS team
