We are currently seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team and provide reliable pre-hospital care and patient transport services.
Position Summary
The EMT is responsible for delivering basic emergency medical care and safe patient transportation in compliance with County guidelines and College Coastal Care standards. This role includes responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, assisting patients using approved protocols, and ensuring all medical equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and ready for use.
Flexible scheduling is available, including 12-hour and 24-hour per diem shifts, with opportunities for overtime.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current State of California EMT-1A certification
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid California driver’s license and California Ambulance Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Current CPR and CPI certifications
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly and safely to emergency and non-emergency calls, selecting appropriate routes and driving responsibly
- Evaluate patient conditions and provide care using established medical protocols and proper equipment
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including patient care reports and supply records
- Collect necessary patient information for billing and obtain required signatures
- Ensure ambulances are clean, fully stocked, and operational at all times
- Communicate effectively with EMS partners, healthcare facilities, and the public
- Assist in hazardous materials incidents as directed by the appropriate incident commander
