Position Overview
Join UW Health, Wisconsin’s #1 hospital and a leading Level 1 Trauma Center, as an Emergency Department Technician. In this fast-paced environment, you will provide essential patient care, assist clinical staff, and ensure the smooth operation of the ED.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate support to patients receiving care in the ED

Assist with clinical procedures including starting IVs, collecting blood samples, and placing catheters

Operate and support state-of-the-art medical equipment

Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, patients, families, and other caregivers

Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Respond to codes, pages, and other emergent situations as directed

Observe and assist with behavioral health assessments as needed
Qualifications
-
EMT-Basic license or National Registry EMT (required)

Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program preferred

Experience in emergency departments, hospitals, or EMS preferred

Current CPR / BLS certification required
-
ACLS and PALS certification preferred
Physical Requirements

Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as patient transfers, lifting, and positioning

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
