Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician – EMT-B (Night Shift)
Location: Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, Northern Virginia
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:
Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a committed Emergency Medical Technician to join our Emergency Department team. This role covers night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with three 12-hour shifts per week. Shift schedules may vary, and candidates must be available for weekdays and rotating weekends as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately document procedures, therapies, and specimens in patient medical records.

  • Assist providers and physicians with specimen collection, labeling, and transport.

  • Provide wound care according to physician orders, including cleaning, dressing, and suture assistance.

  • Apply orthopedic splints and perform 12-lead ECGs and continuous cardiac monitoring.

  • Support patient transport for admissions, discharges, interfacility transfers, and aeromedical transport as needed.

  • Maintain inventory and readiness of equipment and supplies to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Participate in training and orientation, including virtual modules, classroom sessions (8 AM – 4:30 PM), and on-unit department-specific training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year EMT-B experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Current BLS and EMT-B certification, either through NREMT or an active Virginia EMT license.

  • Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends as scheduled.
