Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care, treatment, and evaluation at the scene and during transport

  • Quickly assess emergency situations and develop an effective action plan

  • Operate medical equipment and monitor patients’ conditions, documenting relevant data

  • Communicate patient status and findings to the Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Assist with safe patient mobilization, ambulation, and transport

Minimum Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required within 30 days of hire

  • Valid driver’s license required prior to start

  • Indiana Department of Homeland Security EMT certification required before hire

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification preferred

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant experience OR

  • Associate’s/technical degree OR

  • Four years of cumulative, applicable experience preferred
