Compensation: $22.26–$25.77 per hour
Associated Ambulance IFT Red Deer is inviting applications for two (2) Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) positions assigned to an Interfacility Transfer (IFT) unit. These roles operate on set weekday schedules: Tuesday–Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday–Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This position reports to the Operations Supervisor or Regional Support Supervisor. Team members will primarily deliver non-emergency and Basic Life Support (BLS) patient transport services. External hires must complete a comprehensive onboarding program, which includes formal orientation and a mentored field training period alongside experienced professionals.

Role Overview
The Interfacility Transfer Provider ensures patients are transported safely, respectfully, and efficiently between medical facilities. This role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and continuity of care during non-urgent transports. Ideal candidates demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and sound clinical decision-making while representing the organization in healthcare settings.
Core Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate patient care during non-emergent and interfacility transports

Operate and maintain ambulances and onboard equipment in compliance with company standards and provincial regulations

Conduct patient assessments, ongoing monitoring, and required clinical documentation

Coordinate effectively with sending and receiving healthcare facilities

Complete patient care and transfer records accurately and promptly

Maintain vehicle cleanliness, inventory, and operational readiness

Participate in onboarding, continued education, and quality improvement initiatives

Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, and clinical protocols
Required Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized EMR training program with active registration through the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)

Valid Alberta Class 4 driver’s license with a clean five-year driver’s abstract (no major traffic violations)

Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) within six months of hire

Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past three months
Multiple hires may be made from this posting. All permanent and temporary full-time roles include a three-month probationary period.
