KEDPLASMA, a subsidiary of Kedrion Biopharma Inc., operates plasma collection centers that provide high-quality plasma used in the development of life-saving plasma-derived therapies. Kedrion’s treatments support patients affected by serious medical conditions, including hemophilia, primary immune deficiencies, and Rh-sensitization.

KEDPLASMA is seeking a qualified EMT, LPN, LVN, or RN to join its clinical team. This position offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to use their patient-care and emergency-response skills in a specialized plasma donation center focused on donor safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating prospective donors, monitoring their health throughout the donation process, responding to medical reactions, and supporting safe plasma collection procedures.

Working alongside the Center Medical Director and clinical staff, you will help ensure that donors meet established medical requirements while receiving a safe, professional, and supportive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct donor health assessments and physical examinations to determine eligibility for plasma donation and immunization programs.
• Review medical histories, screening information, and laboratory findings when evaluating donor suitability.
• Consult with the Center Medical Director regarding medical questions, eligibility concerns, or unusual donor conditions.
• Explain the plasma donation process, potential risks, expected benefits, and informed-consent requirements to donors.
• Provide clear health education and answer donor questions to promote confidence and understanding.
• Administer approved vaccinations and monitor individuals for potential adverse reactions.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to donor reactions, including hypotension, citrate reactions, allergic responses, and other medical events.
• Provide immediate treatment within the appropriate scope of practice and escalate serious medical situations when necessary.
• Inspect and maintain emergency medical equipment to ensure it remains operational and readily available.
• Handle confidential communication and counseling related to positive infectious-disease screening results, including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, and syphilis.
• Document donor assessments, treatments, vaccinations, reactions, and other medical information accurately.
• Review medical incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
• Participate in safety committees and assist with educating center personnel about donor eligibility, medical procedures, and safety protocols.
• Support employee vaccination programs and maintain compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with plasmapheresis and whole-blood collection activities when needed.
• Follow applicable standard operating procedures, healthcare regulations, and center policies.
• Help create a welcoming and professional environment that encourages donor confidence and retention.
• Promote a culture centered on donor safety, quality care, and exceptional service.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the licensing and certification requirements applicable to the state where the plasma center operates.

Acceptable professional credentials may include:

• EMT-Basic (EMT-B)
• EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I)
• Advanced EMT (EMT-A)
• Paramedic
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
• Registered Nurse (RN), where applicable to the stated eligibility requirements

Applicants should have graduated from an accredited or recognized healthcare education program. Relevant educational backgrounds may include nursing, physician assistant studies, or advanced emergency medical training.

Current CPR certification is required.

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred. Previous experience working with plasma donation, blood collection, or a similar clinical environment is an advantage.

Work Environment

The role is performed inside a plasma collection center and involves working around medical equipment, blood products, and biological materials.

Employees may encounter bloodborne pathogens and must follow established infection-control and workplace-safety procedures. The position may also involve working in cold environments associated with plasma storage.

Proper personal protective equipment and safety practices must be followed at all times.
