Job Description
HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) β Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our patient-centered healthcare team. In this role, you will work alongside registered nurses and other clinical professionals to provide compassionate, high-quality care while helping maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients throughout their hospital stay.
Position Overview
As a Patient Care Technician, you will assist with direct patient care, support nursing staff with daily clinical activities, and contribute to the overall comfort, safety, and well-being of every patient. Your teamwork, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will play an important role in delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and daily care activities to promote comfort and recovery.
- Record vital signs and report any significant changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Provide non-medication patient care, including dressing changes, skin care, and the application of supportive devices as directed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked patient rooms and clinical work areas.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage medical supplies and equipment while supporting infection prevention standards.
- Accurately complete documentation, equipment logs, and assigned patient care records.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year of EMT or related clinical experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care.
