Travel EMT / Emergency Room Technician

Prime Staffing is hiring a Travel EMT / Emergency Room Technician for a 13-week assignment in Oakland, California. This travel opportunity offers 36 hours per week on three 12-hour daytime shifts, with every other weekend required. No on-call responsibilities are included.

Position Overview

As a Travel EMT / ER Technician, you will support emergency department operations by assisting clinical staff, delivering direct patient care, and helping maintain an efficient, high-quality healthcare environment. This role is ideal for experienced emergency medical professionals who thrive in fast-paced hospital settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and physicians with patient care in the emergency department
  • Monitor, record, and report patient vital signs and clinical observations
  • Prepare treatment areas and medical equipment for patient care
  • Collect blood specimens and perform approved clinical procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic records
  • Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide efficient emergency care
  • Deliver compassionate, professional service to patients and their families

Qualifications

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Valid California EMT, California Paramedic, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification is required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant emergency or hospital experience
  • First-time travel healthcare professionals are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
