Job Description

Position: Part-Time EMS Provider (AEMT or Paramedic)
Organization: Spanish Fork Fire & EMS
Pay Range: $17.34 – $24.14 per hour (based on certification level and years of service)

Spanish Fork Fire & EMS is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as part-time EMS providers. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about emergency medicine and committed to delivering high-quality care to the community. Fire certifications are considered an advantage but are not required.


Position Overview

As an EMS Provider, you will respond to medical and trauma emergencies, deliver patient care at the scene and during transport, and help ensure the safety and well-being of those you serve. This role requires strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

You will also contribute to a professional team environment by building positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and other public safety personnel.


Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response & Patient Care

  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency medical calls
  • Provide basic or advanced life support based on certification level
  • Evaluate patient conditions and deliver appropriate treatment
  • Stabilize patients for safe transport to medical facilities
  • Deliver care both on scene and during ambulance transport
  • Follow all applicable medical protocols and regulatory guidelines

Equipment & Readiness

  • Inspect ambulances and equipment at the start of each shift
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock vehicles after each call
  • Ensure all medical supplies are available and in proper working order

Operations & Professional Standards

  • Follow department procedures and act decisively in emergency situations
  • Maintain consistent attendance to support operational coverage
  • Participate in required training and continuing education programs
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, standards, and expectations

Communication & Customer Service

  • Interact professionally with patients, families, and the public
  • Communicate effectively with team members and partner agencies
  • Complete accurate and thorough patient care reports and documentation
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with healthcare and public safety personnel

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Utah Driver’s License
  • Current Utah or NREMT certification as AEMT or Paramedic
  • BLS and PALS certifications required (ACLS required for Paramedics)
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700a, and 800b certifications (must be obtained within six months of hire)

  • Professional and respectful interaction with the public

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the department’s physical agility test upon hire and annually
  • Ability to meet scheduling requirements, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks associated with EMS work
  • Compliance with all city policies and procedures is required
