Position Overview

We are seeking a Paramedic/Firefighter to provide high-quality patient care, emergency response, and transportation within the North Boone Fire District #3. This role operates at the Paramedic (EMT-P) level and follows the scope of practice defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois EMS Commission.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and transport for patients in accordance with EMT-P protocols.

  • Assist in fire suppression and rescue operations as needed.

  • Maintain certifications, training, and readiness for emergency response.

  • Participate in continuing education and departmental training programs.

  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care and emergency activities.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Paramedic license in Illinois.

  • Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

  • CPR certification required.

  • Minimum age of 21 years.

  • Valid Illinois driver’s license.

  • ACLS and PALS certifications (training provided by Metro).

  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
