Quality Medical Technician (QMT) – Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications as directed

  • Monitor and record vital signs

  • Assist with sick call using established medical protocols

  • Communicate with the facility and on-call medical providers

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies

  • Perform lifesaving measures and lead response efforts during emergencies when necessary

  • Collect laboratory specimens when required

  • Apply the “Rules of 100” while delivering patient care

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and charts

Location

Hancock County Jail

Schedule

6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (36 hours per week)
Rotating weekends and holidays required

Requirements

  • Active CPR certification

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in the medical field

  • EMT or Paramedic certification strongly preferred

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
