Primary Responsibilities
-
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments while ensuring comfort and clear communication.

Conduct triage and accurately record vital signs.

Collect and document patient medical histories using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Obtain routine lab specimens such as blood samples, urine, and oral swabs.

Administer medications and injections, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections.

Perform clinical tasks such as starting IV lines, catheter placement, and splinting when required.

Assist with basic laboratory and clinical procedures following aseptic techniques.

Support occupational health services, including drug testing, breath alcohol testing, hearing tests, and pulmonary function testing.

Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA.

Complete administrative tasks and operate clinic equipment as needed.

Monitor quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with CLIA-waived laboratory standards.

Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed to support staffing requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
-
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Experience
-
At least one year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or emergency department experience is a plus)

Exceptional new graduates may be considered
Clinical Skills
-
Experience with venipuncture, injections, and routine clinical procedures
Technical Skills
-
Familiarity with EMR systems; experience with EPIC preferred
Availability

Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
