Paramedic β Safety & Emergency Response
Overview:
Total Safety is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our safety-focused team. In this role, you will respond to both emergency and non-emergency medical situations, delivering the highest standard of care while following established protocols and remaining within the scope of your training. You will also help identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement safe practices in alignment with client standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care, following medical protocols.

Deliver basic and advanced life support, including patient assessment, airway management, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration.

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient condition and treatments.

Adhere to HIPAA standards and company policies for patient confidentiality.

Manage medical supplies, including controlled substances, ensuring proper inventory and security.

Clean, decontaminate, and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas after each patient encounter.

Conduct First Aid and CPR training for employees and as required by the site supervisor.

Perform health inspections and assist with accident investigations as directed.

Monitor trends in workplace health and consult with management on disease control, vaccination programs, and environmental hazards.

Operate safely in onshore and offshore exploration and production environments when applicable.

Support special projects and additional assignments as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of advanced life support experience in EMS, hospital, or military settings.

Paramedic certification (NR-EMT-P), PHTLS or ATLS, BLS, ITLS, ACLS, and CPR certification.

Knowledge of medication handling and disposal regulations.

Experience in workplace safety practices, including defensive driving, fall protection, fire watch, forklift safety, HAZWOPER, confined space/high angle rescue, and rigging.

If applicable, offshore certifications such as HUET, Safe Gulf, USCG/MMS regulations, TWIC, or Dive Medical Training.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and other database software; ability to learn new applications quickly.

Strong critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills; ability to work effectively under stress.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Work Environment

Combination of office, field, and production site work.
-
Exposure to varying weather conditions, wet or humid environments.

Travel to client sites required.
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED required.

At least 3 years of progressive experience in safety, health, or contractor safety management; refinery operations experience preferred.

Associate degree preferred.
