Position: EMT
Pay Rate: $16.50/hour
Location: Carowinds Amusement Park

Carowinds is seeking dedicated EMTs to join our Safety team, providing both emergency and non-emergency medical care to guests and staff. Our EMTs help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone by staffing the park’s First Aid office and responding promptly to medical calls throughout the property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver basic clinical care and emergency support, including wound treatment, splinter removal, over-the-counter medication administration, and patient assessments

  • Accurately complete all departmental documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality

  • Keep first aid facilities, vehicles, and equipment clean and sanitized, following OSHA and bloodborne pathogen safety protocols

  • Collect and process urine specimens for pre-employment, post-incident, random, and reasonable cause drug screenings

  • Support safety inspections and report hazards immediately; document all findings as directed

  • Assist the First Aid Supervisor with skills testing, auditing, and other evaluations throughout the season

  • Promote a positive, guest-focused environment by responding professionally and promptly to medical situations

Qualifications

  • Valid EMT certification in NC, SC, or NR (EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P). SC and NR EMTs must obtain NC certification within 90 days of hire

  • Current American Heart Association CPR Healthcare Provider or MEDIC/Mecklenburg County Focused CPR Certification

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in emergency situations

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Ability to pass company-mandated drug testing (if not prohibited by law)

  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal, credit, DMV, employment, education, and references, as required
