About the Role
BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, is seeking a dedicated Medical Support Specialist to help oversee daily medical operations at our plasma donation center. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring donor safety while contributing to the creation of life-saving plasma-derived therapies.
Reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and working under the medical direction of the Center Physician, you will combine clinical expertise with strong customer service skills to support safe and efficient plasma collection operations.
Primary Responsibilities

Evaluate and determine donor eligibility through informed consent review, medical history interviews, physical assessments, and required laboratory testing.

Monitor donors for adverse reactions and respond according to established clinical procedures.

Implement standing medical orders and coordinate emergency response and transportation when necessary.

Review laboratory findings, including protein electrophoresis results, and notify donors of any disqualifying results in compliance with regulatory standards.

Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs team regarding complex medical determinations.

Assist with employee health programs such as Hepatitis B and seasonal influenza vaccinations when applicable.

Manage workplace health incidents and coordinate follow-up care through occupational health services.

Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives and, when designated, assist with public health or pandemic response efforts.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, plus graduation from an accredited nursing or paramedic program that meets state requirements.

Current state licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic.

Valid CPR and AED certification.

Completion of state-required IV therapy credentials.

Ability to successfully complete FDA-required Medical Support Specialist training.

Minimum of two years of clinical or hospital-based experience.
Compensation
Hourly Range: $23.85 β $32.79 (Flint, MI)
Compensation is based on experience, certifications, education, and location.
