Position Overview
This role qualifies for an annual performance bonus of up to $8,000.
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The MA plays a key role in maintaining efficient patient flow, delivering high-quality care, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient visits.

Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with visit preparation.

Record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, and weight; document findings in the electronic health record (EHR).

Review and update medication lists and allergy information in the EHR.

Enter orders, referrals, and appointments accurately in the practice management and EHR systems.

Schedule appointments in accordance with office guidelines.

Answer phones professionally and relay messages accurately.

Maintain proper inventory levels and stock exam rooms as needed.

Support prescription refill processes in accordance with policy.

Follow universal safety precautions when administering medications and handling medical waste.

Assist with care transitions to urgent care or hospital settings when appropriate.

Provide scribing assistance during patient encounters as needed.

Communicate concerns promptly to supervisors or managers.

Perform additional duties as assigned and proactively address tasks that require attention.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or phlebotomy program (required).

0β1 year of related experience required; 2β4 years preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire (required).

Proficiency in basic computer applications.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to travel to satellite locations when needed.
