Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) SF California

We are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) committed to delivering high-quality patient care with professionalism, compassion, and efficiency. The EMT plays a critical role in assessing emergency situations, providing appropriate medical care, and determining the best course of action in accordance with established protocols. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.


Minimum Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Current California State-issued EMT certification or National Registry EMT certification

  • Current CPR certification

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Capstone policy

    • Applicants with a DUI within the last five (5) years are not eligible

  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Availability for overtime, including emergency assignments

  • Must meet all local standards for qualification, training, hiring, placement, and promotion

Primary Responsibilities

Occupational Health Support

  • Conduct audiometric testing in accordance with OSHA standards and facility protocols

  • Perform vision screenings for occupational health monitoring

  • Administer respiratory fit testing for respirators and personal protective equipment

  • Support health surveillance and routine occupational health programs

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all occupational health activities in compliance with regulatory and facility requirements


Emergency Medical Response

  • Perform initial assessment and triage of workplace injuries and medical emergencies

  • Provide immediate emergency medical care within the EMT-Basic scope of practice

  • Stabilize patients prior to transfer to definitive medical care

  • Coordinate emergency medical transport, including ambulance services when required

  • Complete detailed and accurate incident and patient care documentation


Clinical Collaboration

  • Work closely with on-site clinical and operational teams

  • Follow clinical direction related to occupational health and emergency care protocols

  • Participate in case reviews and quality improvement activities as requested

  • Communicate patient status, incidents, and follow-up care requirements effectively

  • Coordinate care transitions between clinic operating hours and off-hours coverage


Compliance Responsibilities

  • Review documentation for accuracy and adherence to established processes

  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions as directed by Corporate Compliance and Audit leadership

  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Human Resources on workflow improvements

  • Take immediate action on identified compliance concerns in accordance with corporate policies

  • Comply with and enforce all organizational policies and procedures

  • Complete all required compliance training within designated timeframes

  • Maintain a compliance record free of corrective actions during the current review period


Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives
