The Henry County Department of Public Safety is currently expanding its team and is accepting applications for full-time and part-time EMS/Firefighter positions. This role is ideal for individuals who perform well in fast-paced, high-stress environments and are driven by a desire to serve others during critical moments.
Successful candidates will demonstrate solid knowledge of emergency medical services and fire suppression operations, along with strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills. The ability to stay calm, focused, and effective during emergency responses is essential.
Preference will be given to applicants who already hold Virginia Firefighter certifications and Advanced Life Support (ALS) credentials. Candidates who are not currently certified as a Virginia Firefighter II must be willing to obtain this certification within two (2) years of hire, at their own time and expense.
Minimum Requirements:

Compensation:

Part-time positions: up to $22.00 per hour

Full-time positions:
-
EMT: starting at $42,478 annually (approx. $18.67/hour)

Paramedic/Firefighter: up to $55,318 annually (approx. $24.32/hour)

Salary is based on certifications, experience, and qualifications.
