As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and provide medical support to ensure smooth operations and donor safety. You will work closely with the Center Physician for medical guidance and follow BioLife’s Medical Affairs protocols. You will also support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives at the center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical assessments, blood testing, and serological analysis (SPE).

  • Manage donor reactions and medical incidents following established SOPs, including implementation of standing orders and emergency transport if needed.

  • Communicate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on donor safety, eligibility issues, or medical concerns.

  • Assist with vaccination programs such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu for staff, as applicable.

  • Monitor and manage employee incidents in coordination with EHS or occupational health.

  • Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, assisting with investigations of local pandemic threats.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate equivalent preferred.

  • Current active license or certification in the state of assignment (EMT-Paramedic).

  • Current CPR and AED certification.

  • Basic IV therapy credentials as required by the state of licensure.

  • Completion of FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical or hospital experience.

  • Familiarity with regulations of plasma collection or medical manufacturing preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Location: Greenfield, WI

  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $34.38 (based on experience, skills, certifications, and education)

  • Eligible for short-term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well-being programs, up to 80 hours of sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
