Position Overview:
The Department of Health Sciences at Central Washington University (CWU) is inviting applications for part-time and full-time lecturer positions in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). These roles involve teaching EMT and Paramedic courses, including both classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory sessions. CWU seeks experienced EMS professionals with a commitment to educating the next generation of emergency care providers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications where applicable
-
Current EMT or Paramedic certification (Washington State or National Registry)

At least three years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic with an EMS provider
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Instructor certifications in ACLS, PALS (or PEPP), and ITLS (or PHTLS), or willingness to obtain them

Experience teaching in both in-person and online formats
-
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with students and faculty
Compensation and Work Schedule:
Pay is based on CWU’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. For the 2025–2026 academic year, non-tenure-track pay is as follows:

Lecturer: $1,188 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $950 per workload unit for those without terminal degrees

Senior Lecturer: $1,307 per workload unit for faculty with terminal degrees; $1,044 per workload unit for those without terminal degrees

Additional Information:
Applications submitted will form a pool for potential lecturer openings in the Health Sciences Department through March 2026. Selected candidates may be contacted on short notice to fill positions quarter by quarter. Screening begins immediately and continues as needed. Lecturer appointments typically start at the beginning of each academic quarter.
